As i have been trying to get as much information on fishing the Glebe complex in Leics i keep coming across Krilled this and Krilled that. Now i know the krilled maggot method has been around a while now but is it as good as its being reported?? Basically what im asking is, is it the krill that is making the difference?? Or is it as i suspect the fact that a few anglers are fishing the maggot again( as opposed to pellet meat corn etc) and more importantly using the amount needed to make it a really effective way of catching carp and a lot of them too. I can speak from experience, i have fished many matches on a water where feeding and fishing the maggot was king, almost unbeatable and this was standard maggots not the krilled version. Would i have caught more on the krill? I doubt it, when catching weights of upto 150lb in 3Hr matches and 250lb in 5hrs! These fish are not 10lb plus munters either prob averaging 5-6lb so we are talking a lot of carp.I believe its the humble maggot that has made a massive come back and not the use of additives, be it krill or any of the hundreds available!! The problem is to make this method as devastating as it is and i think the secret to it too is the amount needed,8-12 pints for a five hr match!! yes you can sometimes get away with 4-6 pints but the norm is the more the better….. These are my opinions, i dont think the krill is the be all and end all, using large quantities of grubs on well stocked carp fisheries will get results with it or without it. whether you can justify the cost is another topic all together( personally id say yes it really is that good on the right venue)
Well i have put my 2 penneth in so over to the forum, What do you think????
