landing net handles whats the best/value for money

It was a sad day for me at barston in the inter-services match as I unfortunately bust my daiwa tourny landing net pole, gutted as I have only had it 15 years and thought it might have lasted a bit longer, it was hammerring down with rain and needless to say the brolley was up, i was fighting with the handle as often as it does it gets stuck under the brolley due to the angle of lift as I tried to lift out a 19lb 12 oz carp the handle went bang in two places the short section and the second Doh, whats good out there in the market place and whats not in terms of landing net handles preferably 3 piece take apart and not mega bucks.

I have a drennan as back up which is very strong but is heavier than the old tourny so I have time to peruse the market.

I bought a drennan 15 years ago. For a backup handle I have pretty much tied every other make preston, garbolino, daiwa and they all broke I now have another drennan which i use as a back up, and I’m still using the one I bought 15years ago once or twice a week and it will probably outlast me.

I use a tricast xrs. It’s telescopic so maybe not what your after but it’s a quality handle none the less.

I use two, if i’m not expecting beasties then my Garbo Netsy,about 4yrs old now & never had a problem with it, if the fish are going to be that much bigger then i always turn to my Drennan,like you say it’s a bit heavier but that bit stronger as well.

Looked at this after broken wrist in a bike accident 18 months ago. Here’s what I found.
Fox: heavy, bendy
Tricast: strong but telescopic
Drennan: heavy but strong
Garbo Betsy 366: strong, light but oneof the threads is aluminium and split when a mate was landing a fish and he lost his net head.
I’m still using Preston Easy Net + got a free tipper section when I got an attachment jammed in the original one. My fault but they replaced ot foc anyway.
