I remember 1993 Raven fished the Anchor league on the London canals ! Kingsland Road, Havelock Road, Harrow Road, Scrubbs lane ect and I won 5 out of 6 sections and coming 2nd on the other, and you got a printed card with a black anchor and section winner printed below !! Great days but places now sadly I would not fish without a bodyguard or two 🙁 🙁
I fish mostly at Willinghurst now !! There’s a great bunch of lads and the place as been kind to me over the years.. And now I have a nipper my time on the bank is at a limit.. Might see you there one day though mate ! Send my best to Syd Wilson and tell him Edd and family are doing well
P.s does Ray Smith still fish for Oakwood ? A lovely bloke but mad as a hatter !! I remember we were fishing a team match on a river not sure where, but Ray had drawn a good bream peg but like most bream pegs on a river, it was a long walk.. Anyway we were all sorting ourselves out ect when I saw Ray emptying all these bags of GB in a big bowl, then adding water and mixing it up ! Isaid to him what you doing that for ? he replied I have a long walk and I thought I would lighten the load and get rid of these bags !!! If you know Ray you will get what I mean !! It was priceless but such a smashing bloke… Say hi to them all LolB and get to Willy in the summer and bring Syd 😀 😀 😀 :D.. Your right about Joe the last I heard he had brought three cabs, hires them out and plays golf all the time.. I’ve often thought of the Ravens getting back together again, but unfortunately mobility scooters dont come with a sponsorship 😀 😀 😀 😀
