        REPORT
Long Eaton Victoria Angling Society’s 8th Championship match of the season, for the Centenary Cup, was fished on a windswept Earlswood Reservoir (Engine Lake) on Sunday 11 September. Due to low water levels, the anglers had to sit on the lake bed some 30 yards in front of the fishing platforms.

Paul Richardson (peg 74) fished groundbait method feeder with boilie as bait to catch big carp throughout the final 3 hours for his 120-06 winning weight, just enough to edge out guest angler Lee Westwood (peg 71), who ended with 116-08. Lee caught odd fish throughout the match, also finding that a groundbait method feeder with boilie produced best.

Third placed Neil Stevenson (peg 78) caught a mixed bag of carp and skimmer bream on groundbait feeder for his 90-10 catch, John Adamson (peg 65) taking fourth place (and winning section A) with his 9 carp catch weighing 77-06 on pellet method and pellet bait, Gary Hemmings (peg 79) taking 65-14 for fifth place (to win section B) on pellet waggler.

Championship Leaders after 8 rounds are:
John Adamson 114 points; Dave Kent 103; Malc Munn 102; Paul Richardson 97; Neil Stevenson 96; Brian Leafe 88; Mick Lager 88; Dave Cotterill 77; Steve Wilcock 69.

Next LEVAS Championship Match (for the W Camm Cup) will be on 25 September on the ‘Donington’ Pool at Hemington.
