TF_joffmiesteri think you will find that plumrose have changed the size of the tin ,that’s why the market was flooded with £1 cans 340g tins are now 250g .Ive just received my first pallet its still £1 a tin but cooked meats have gone through the roof
hope this helps -

TF_JohnHChecked out my store yesterday and Joff is correct. Still 99p but 30% smaller tin. However, at £1.30 equivalent price, for a larger tin, the 250g tin is still a good deal. Better Bargains Sheffield was the store. I know lots of cheaper stuff is available but Plumrose seems to come out tops for all the anglers I speak to. Beware, some other meats float!!

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantjust to add my twopenneth, looks like plumrose have changed to a more consistent size of a quarter of a kilo or tapped further into the quid shop market by manufacturing a price specific product. incidently dont bother with the princess luncheon meat in the blue tin from pound shop, they must have changed the recipe it used to be ok then the recent lot ive had is very grainystringy leaves lots of fibres on the cutter wires. plumrose is without doubt the best meat

TF_scarfThe latest PoundLand Plumrose is 250g; the old size was 300g, so that’s a reduction of 17.5%, equivalent to £1.20 for a 300g tin.
Wish I’d stocked up earlier. -

TF_lumpi’ve tried lidl bacon grill, i think it’s £1.59 for a 300gr tin, just have to accept it’s a bit dearer now, just like everything else.

TF_joffmiesterthe retail price is £1.29 for most shops and supermarkets very rarely will they promote luncheon meat at a better price i’ve sold 40 slabs this week ,but unfortunately its collection only to keep the price down
pound shops are worth it if you buy in bulk i match this only for cases not individual tins 😉 -
