Although the wind was blowing into the early A numbers and B1, the top three weights all came from more sheltered areas of the lake, with four of these being high numbers.

John Adamson (peg B10) had yet another good day on method feeder. After waiting 50 minutes for his first bite, seeing some activity in the margin he cast there and a carp of 14-08 resulted. Next cast in same place nothing, so back across to the island and the next two casts produced similar fish. His match had a quiet middle and strong finish putting 123-08 on the scales (including 5 carp for 62-00) for a clear win.

Dave McDowell (peg B22) and Paul Clarkson (peg A20) battled fish for fish on the pellet waggler, Dave taking second with 89-12 and Paul third with 82-08.

John Adamson marked up his 24th win of 2017 with another “ton” weight, this time from Reptile Lake peg 17. As the heavy overnight rain had taken the colour from the water, he started at 11m with paste, and was soon catching bream, tench and small carp steadily. After three hours sport eased so he rested it by casting tiny feeder to the island, adding six quick carp, when bites dried up he returned to pole/paste, this time at 9m and caught to match end, adding several bigger samples in the last hour for a total of 134-00.

“Bart” Simpson took second on the lake (default lake win) from peg 4 catching early on pellet fished long then late on worm over maggot from the margins, Gaz Wood (Crater peg 10) filling third place (lake win) with 74-06 of carp taken from the margins on paste.
NB. ‘NISA FEEDERS’ Opens are at Makins every Thursday on Phases 2 or 3. (£15 “all in” at the draw). Draw 9.30 am in Café, Phase 1 Car Park.
