Report:
Burton-upon-Trent’s Frank Didio recorded his first match win and a personal best match weight when he scored in the Thursday Kobra Open at Dynamite Baits Makins.
Fishing Reptile 13, Frank started fishing towards the island and later switched to his margins using pole feeder with corn bait, and landed carp to nearly 10 lb for a clear win.
Runner up Alan Walton (Swann Baits & Carpetbaggers) on Reptile 7 found fish in the final 2 hours by fishing paste tight in the corner for his 66 lb 10 oz, edging Ian Morris (Reptile 16) into third place. Ian landed his 61 lb 14 oz on method feeder early on and later pole and paste from the margins.
Top weight from Crater was Leicester angler Nick Pittard’s 48 lb 12 oz from peg 3, consisting of carp and barbel from the margin taken on Dairylea cheese.
Thursday KOBRA Open 26 August will be on Derwent (Dynamite Baits Makins Phase 3) 10am draw.
