I have a match this coming weekend on this lake and have never fished it before. Could I get some info on what tactics work best this time of year? And what to expect?

all depends what peg your on if you draw 19,20,21 ure on a flier pellet wag will still catch on these or fish the bomb,any were else i would say method or pva bag all depends were u draw hit and miss at the mo wot day u fishing cause the lanes bait winter league starts sunday i think try bread as well mate

I fished Lambsdowne last Sat, and I’m also on it this Sunday for the start of the Lanes Bait Winter League.

As stated above, pegs 19, 20, 21 and 22 hold a lot of fish for whatever reason. Straight lead, method, waggler, sinking waggler…take your pick, it varies day to day but all methods catch fish on these pegs.

The match was hard last week. 80lb won, peg 19, straight lead. There was other back up weights off the roadside bank, some on method, some on waggler, some on straight lead.

Assuming you’re match is this Sunday, with the winter league on the pump bank and far side, it could be a tough match.

Not sure if you know, but fishery pellets must be used, they sell all sizes upto 8mm on site.

I would say your on 5 to 22 as the winter league is on the rest.
