                  Duanepipe,

I fished a match on Island lake a couple of weeks ago. The carp just weren’t there, well, you could see them, but they weren’t feeding.

40lb of silvers won the match from peg 7.

                  Hope this helps.

                  Mark

I always thought Island was won on bomb and big pellet and firing in pellets all shift?

                        Hi Dwain

Saved me job mate, looks like its going to be the battle of the top kits. Don’t think i will be taking 6 pints of maggots though!!!

It’s not my favourite venue, but i have had some big weight of carp on the pellet wag and bomb over the same line fishing with there big pellets.

Whats the betting we get done in the last hour with a couple of carp, after fishing for silvers all day.

                        Regards Dave

84lb won our most recent match, bomb and pellet is the method for carp. 50lb can be done short to the maggot, skimmers, tench and roach. Best lake around by far.

cracking venue but a tackle shops dream the carp r feeding like mad i had 26 on p6 last friday got 5 out they smashed 9lb maxima as if it was a 0.6, imo yer need 20lb braid reel line and a 15lb braid hooklength in conjunction with a 2lb tc barbel rod the carp r extremely fit n know where all the snags r i felt sick after 2hrs fishing constantly tying hooks on direct to the 9lb maxima lol

                                  crikey! how big are they?

run to over 20lb but they r very fit average 6-10lb yerve got to turn them as soon as u hit them cos u only get a bite within a ft of a snag

No I believe method feeder and waggler dominate swan.
Swan is also open water without snags or it was the last time I fished it.~think
