TF_geepsterParticipantI’ve heard through the grapevine that Middy are on the lookout for a couple of match anglers to sponsor. Send an email marked for David or Craig at [email protected] .

TF_Tim_DI’m thinking about it, what’s middy tackle like? I’ve never seen a Middy rod/pole in my life!

TF_SuvvernerYou sound like the person they are looking for Tim, never seen Middy Tackle, dont know a thing about it, perfect !
I would try and do some research before applying otherwise you will end up looking like a knob !

TF_SuvvernerThey have a flagship pole, pretty pricey it is too.
It must be decent enough if anglers like Rob Wooten and Nick Speed were using it .

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantI didnt know they had a flagship pole thought the Works were the best pole they did, like i said prior they do make good tackle ive read pieces by Ant King catching loads with his Middy rods and shotgun feeders.

TF_badgerParticipantCorrect me if I’m wrong, in most of the magazine articles that Nick Speed does I’m sure he uses a Maver pole, thats not saying there’s ought wrong with Middy stuff, just an observation.

AnonymousVery few sponsored anglers in reality get all there tackle for free. Most sponsored anglers still have to pay for there tackle but at discounted prices. A £2,000 pole as an example might cost £800 to the sponsored angler. Seems good if you need a new pole However, if you got £800 for your old pole. Would the new sponsored pole be better than your old pole? Its also unlikely that you would have all the extra,s most quality match anglers carry. You still have to elasticate your top kits. So, add another £100 minimum. Its all extra expence and so it can take several years for sponsored anglers to switch over to all the sponsors tackle. In some cases. The sponsors tackle is not as good as take from other companies. Would you as a quality match angler use second rate tackle just to please a sponsor?
Middy use to be a great tackle company. I still have lots of there old stuff in my tackle box. Looks like they are making a push to become one of the brand leaders again in this country.

TF_Baku BlankerParticipantSurely Middy should be approaching the anglers they want to sponsor and to represent and promote their company. They lost a good one in Nick Speed.
