Next to me in a corner! Peg 90 on lake 2, i was first to shake his hand after the hooter, i knew he had 140lb+ but he was being modest and thought he had 90lb. Well done to him, nice bloke.

He would have 130lb, not enough to win.
Steve Clark was the unlucky one as he probably had enough to win but got knocked back to 50lb in one of his nets.

How can they be unlucky they knew the rules before the match started i presume ???

TF_red_hydroAll the rules are on the website plus we were told at the start of a 50lb limit per net
Well done to Dave as well !!!!!!!!

worm drowner50lb a bag limit plus 10lb tolerance. More than 60lb and the weight would stand at 50. Everyone knew the rule at the start.
The office was even hiring spare nets for £2
it’s a sensible rule for the fisheries welfare, and it’s the same rule week in week out at Monks. Not the first time and it won’t be the last that’s someone misses out due to being onerweight.
Most/90% of match anglers probably owe 4 keepnets aswell

Call it unlucky or call it misjudge. The net limit is 50lb, how tell me how do you know when you’ve got 50lb? You only know when you weigh in. A fish you think is 2lb could weigh 4lb??

TF_lloydy1970Some anglers lie, some anglers really haven’t got a clue what weight they have, eg bloke that won admitted to 90lb, Jon Arthur nowhere near guessing right at Viaduct. So do you guess at 30lb in a 50lb limit net to make sure or get as close to 50lb as you think. I personally can’t guess what i’ve got and i mainly fish canals, if i admit to 8lb i’ll weigh 6lb and if i admit to 6lb will weigh 8lb so i’d be in a right mess when you start talking 50lb net limits.
How do you lot do it(Sherrif just lies)

TF_FordyYou’ll get the answer to what happened on Tight Lines later.
Easy mistake to make.

TF_mt netjust a question,is the weigh in done by fishery staff,or by fisho stewards.

TF_red_hydroThe weigh in was done by the fishery staff.
Plus all fish over 7lb had to be weighed by the fishery staff and returned
