TF_back shotParticipantThe new pink hydro is rated 4-6,is this available in the shops yet, if so have you tryed it and what do you think for a all round winter league elastic.
I am a hydro convert, and this is all i use now. I find that the price evens itself out over the year due to it long life, as i get over a seasons use from each spool.
What do you think.

TF_red_hydroMick Hughes (part owner of hydrolastic) is waiting or was waiting last week for the packaging to put the new elastic in. Once he gets it in it will be released into the shops asap
He expects it to be in the shops before the end of November
Hope this helps

Average-AlParticipantI am also a convert to hydro but not sure about the point in the lower sizes e.g. the blue and now pink. I just feel the extra weight of the hydro to do a job a small solid elastic will do equally well is counter productive.

TF_Fred DavisI must admit to taking out most hollow elastic (except in my margin pole) and am now a convert to doubled up preston, it powers up well retracts as well as hydro, is soft on the strike so small fish are not bumped, in fact very much like hollow, with all the benefits but not the weight or cost, in fact at woodland veiw I bumped three carp on the trot on black hydro switched to doubled 8 and never had a another problem. the more I use doubled up rubber the more it impresses me.

TF_Nigel.Wow, fantastic, thats all the range needed, was a lighter one than blue for winter roach and skimmer fishing, this with a pull bung will be awesome i recon!

Average-AlParticipantFred, Doubled elastic is something I am yet to try but will give it ago off the back of your experience and reccomendation. I have taken the number 1 sections out of my top kits and tend to elasticate through the number 3 to the 2 which is about 7 foot, is this too long for this method?

TF_Chris-turnerParticipantdoubled up laccy is the future, no need to spend a fortune on hollows or other gimmicky laccys, just double it and add a pull bung ..sorted.

Anonymousdoubled up preston original slip is great, so is doubled up preston flouro in size 6 for winter carping, stronger than original size 6 and more robust i.e. last longer, I know top anglers say the flouro is no good but I have been using double 6 flouro for a while and it’s won me a fair few matches. Try it you won’t be sorry

TF_HillbillyTried doubled didn’t get on with it now back on hydro except for solid 5’s and 3’s for proper canal fishing.

TF_back shotParticipantI am a convert to the lighter hydros, even for carp this time of year. I have won two matches at Hallcroft over the last 10 days fishing 0.12 main line and blue hydro on a pull bung.
I have landed carp upto 13lb even landed foul hooked doubles on this tackle, when those pegged around me have struggled for bites or had hook pulls from foul hooked fish with there elastics being to heavy.
Tryed doubled elastics and found them good, but i still foung that i was having to replace them on a more regular basis when bagging.
Regards Dave

TF_squattI’m using the pink already – it’s the only elastic you will need in the winter. Unless you need blue, white or grey. I suppose someone might need black, purple or red. Then there is always someone who wants brown!~clap ~sick ~think

TF_StewartJ Range pink for me in winter, also great for F1’s and skimmers in summer fantastic lastix. Tried doubled solid, it’s not for me. Each to their own in my book.

TF_wightanglerlike the current green drenna, was going to try ‘j’ range reddy hollow- but will wait now for pink hydro with pulla- seems ideal for winter fishing where bounus large fish expected, and more suitable and versatile than my double 5 first ledge ‘big perch’ set-up.

TF_Waveney OneI can’t get on with doubled elastics either. But for the lighter elastics I use in silver fish matches I always use solids. Can’t see the point of hydro and the added weight when fishing for silvers!

TF_GavinI have to admit I think it’s one to make money from the tarts! Can’t see the need for the extra stretch of hollows for proper silvers, with the extra weight being a drawback too.
As for the double elastic- I tried it, and it’s not for me!

TF_paulDVespe e2, Garbolino Bazoocarp, Browning Reflex, Mossela j2, the original maver dual core -I have seen them all and they are all EXACTLY the same elastics and the same colours. They dont make the stuff they just all buy it from the same factory. All they do is write the bull*** thats on the packaging.
All very good stuff though and I think as good as hydro.
The new Diawa pink sounds suspicously like the pink stuff already sold by the others. I would have a look at it before forking out and extra fiver for a squirt of fluid up the inside.
Ive heard that there arent many companies that make elastic products so it all comes from 2 or 3 places. Also that Hydro is really a tubing for medical equipment.
