TF_gixer1After a major pole disaster at the weekend, now looking for a new top end pole, mostly fish commercials with the odd river/canal venue thrown in, been looking at Tri-cast Trilogy, Garbo M1, and Sensas 774/874, any opinions gratefully taken on board, thanks in advance.

TF_craigmI have a Garbo M1 and its brilliant, rigid, responsive, well balanced and strong. Its not as strong as the Trilogy but far stiffer and more responsive, I had a 774 and really didn’t get on with it, I found it un-responsive and very awkward at 16m. Only my opinions as I know people really love the 774 but it just wasn’t for me. 😉

TF_LolBi have a garbo 800 and its only taken two seasons to wear it out. a few of my team have the z12 and it’s not the lightest pole but is very stiff and strong.

TF_SliderOver the last few years ive owned top end Mavers, Garbo G10 and currently a Gmaxx1000 and I held a MAPTKS825 at the weekend and have to be honest its the best pole ive ever picked up ( I have fished with Pros,Z9s and Airitys, Trilogys ETC)
If I was buying a new pole today I would buy it, bear in mind the lad in question had an M1 and retired it for the MAP !!

TF_Fred DavisThe map poles are incredable value at the mo as they fade out existing models the 825 is going for £1399, quite a few of my mates have the 625 and rave about how good a pole it is for the money and I personally thought that the pole was very good having had a quick waggle even better for the money at the mo (check with fosters) The 825 I have not handled so am not so sure as another mate has one and is constantly complaining about the breakages he’s had and says the pole is too brittle not sure if it’s heavy handedness although the chap worked in the trade and knows how to handle poles.
