Report:
The match was fished on the deeps and one again provided some big weights with Oggy (Chris Horsley) leading the way in spite of taking a break with two hours to go to collect extra keepnets.
The top two, Chris (Oggy) Horsley and Mick Bull, were next to each other on pegs 15 and 13, and both caught steadily on short pole and pellet. Mick said lost fish (probably foul hooked) cost his heavily, as he missed out by three pounds with Oggy putting 270-10 on the scales to Mick’s 267-11.
On end peg (again) 27 Terry Winstone had an early carp on the waggler and then struggled for bites, but in the last two hours started to catch regularly on bomb and pellet to end with 146-13 for third place.
Oliver Sleath (peg 17) caught his 124-04 fourth placed fish mainly on pole with some on the bomb, and Alan Marshall (peg 25) caught most of his 74-06 on pole and pellet in the final hour for fifth, David Day in sixth catching on bomb, pellet waggler and pole for his 61-02.
Next week’s match will be on the high numbered pegs (drive to your peg), 51 to 72.
