NISA FEEDERS MIDWEEK OPEN MATCH RESULT/REPORT
EVENT: WEDNESDAY “NISA Feeders” OPEN MATCH
        VENUE: MEADOWLANDS FISHERY – LAMBSDOWN
        DATE: 12 JANUARY 2022
        RESULT
1st Rob LOWE – Old Works AC 34-11
        2nd John ADAMSON – Nisa Feeders 2-03
        Winner Take All

        Report:
Arriving anglers were welcomed with a hard frost of -3C, and although everything looked lovely covered in white, with the lack of wind it was certainly not the best conditions to fish in. Because of the hard frost it was agreed to fish on the “Deeps”. Areas of the bank were still frozen and white as the match ended.

Everyone struggled to get a bite except for the winner, Rob Lowe (peg 25), who certainly seems to have the venue sorted. Rob targeted “silvers” on pole with a number four elastic and baiting with worm and maggot. After feeding his swim he allowed it to settle for an hour and started on method feeder, which produced a decent skimmer.

A switch to the pole saw Rob soon catching small skimmer bream and roach at regular intervals, before he hooked and lost a carp that broke his hook length (possibly foul hooked). Continuing on similar lines, Rob kept adding roach and skimmers, before hooking another carp which he landed. He lost another one, but added a second on the whistle to tie up the victory.

His two carp weighed 20-02, and added to his 14-09 of “silvers” gave him a total of 34-11. A superb display under the hard conditions.

Although everyone caught fish, the only other angler to weigh in was John Adamson (peg 27) with two skimmer bream for 2-03 (both on feeder in the last 40 minutes).

NB. ‘NISA Feeders’ Opens are at Meadowlands Fishery most Wednesdays. Book in before 10pm the previous evening (see Facebook: Nisa – midweek Open Matches), draw in car park 8:30am-8:45am, fishing 10:00am-3:00pm.
