Report:
The match was held on the Deeps on a bitterly cold day after a hard overnight frost, and once again was dominated by “silvers”, mainly skimmer bream from 4 oz up to around 2 lb in weight, although some roach and perch also figured. There was one carp caught, albeit a small one, by Rob Lowe.
Mick Bull on peg 24 came out on top. Mick fished pole at 11m, and by alternating between corn and pellet on the hook steadily caught skimmers to end with a winning 28-12.
On peg 18, Shaun Weed fished similarly and had the same stamp of fish for his 20-00 to take second place, with Rob Lowe (peg 27) taking third with 16-00.
NB. ‘NISA Feeders’ Opens are at Meadowlands Fishery most Wednesdays. Book in before 10pm the previous evening (see Facebook: Nisa – midweek Open Matches), draw in car park 8:30am-8:45am, fishing 10:00am-3:00pm.
