For the first time since the beginning of April there was no early morning frost or cold NE wind, instead there was a nice SW wind and mainly sunshine.

The match was fished on the high numbers, and once again everyone caught fish with both carp and “silvers” being caught.

Shaun Weed continued his excellent run of form with yet another win. On peg 54, Shaun caught several big carp on the bomb and pellet, and added 39-03 of silvers on pole and corn at 11m to total 85-03.

On peg 48, another in form angler, Chris Lee, caught mainly carp for second place with 73-09. These were mainly on bomb and pellet, with a couple on pellet waggler and two more on pole and corn from the margins.

Only five ounces split the next two, with David Day, on his first NISA Open taking third place from peg 44 with 9 carp weighing 66-13. This edged Liam Lynott (peg 60) into fourth place with his 66-07, which consisted of a single carp of 14-08 and a magnificent 51-15 of silvers, all falling to pole fished casters.

Julian Fletcher (peg 58) filled fifth place with 44-11 with Allan Neale (peg 56) in sixth with 39-05.

The photos show the top two and Liam Lynott with his 52 lbs of “silvers”.

The next match is on May 26th on Lambsdown Lake.

NB. ‘NISA Feeders’ Opens are at Meadowlands Fishery every Wednesday. You must book a place before 10am the previous Tuesday evening (see Facebook: Nisa – midweek open matches), draw in car park 8:30am-9:00am, fishing 10:30am-4:30pm.
