Report:
The change from low to high pressure, causing the wind to switch from west to north-east during the day, adversely affected sport and in was only when the weather settled in the latter stages that the fish responded for many anglers. Having said that, it was a close match with less than seven pounds splitting the top three.
Chris “Oggy” Horsley on the “point” peg 62 used his local knowledge to good effect, and fishing pole and pellet caught carp over the last two hours to total 78-03 for the win.
On peg 59, Andy Edgington caught 46-01 of carp on the bomb and pellet and added 27-07 of skimmers on the pole for his 73-08 to take second place just ahead of Terry Hill’s 71-10 of bomb caught carp, which included two fish together weighing 29-14.
Last in the money was Shaun Weed on peg 47 with 33-12 of carp and 16-10 of “silvers”, followed by John Adamson’s 38-06 (five carp, two on pole and three on bomb) from peg 65, Lloyd Hayes with 36-10 from peg 52, and James Southwood with 30-12 from peg 44, which included a carp of 15-02.
