Conditions could not have been worse – 4C, heavy overnight rain, an East wind, dull and overcast with odd shower, resulting in post feeding fish in the high numbered pegs.

Jeff Robertshaw on A20 enjoyed a decent day, catching on maggots fished in the margins and including decent sized carp in his 67-10 winning weight. This is the 70th time A20 has produced the winning weight on a Wednesday match.

Steve Wilcock (A15) spent most of the match fishing towards the reeds to his right without result, but a switch to his left margin, again maggot bait, resulted in several big carp for his 48-10 for second place.

Alan Grewcock on B17 continued his great run to take third place with 32-08 which consisted of 16-04 for 3 carp, and 16-04 of skimmers.
NB. ‘Nisa Feeders’ Opens are at Makins on Phase 1 every Wednesday, 9:00 am draw in Café (on Phase 1 Car Park).

Excepting one angler sport was poor on both lakes on a damp and bitterly cold day. The exception was Paul Reynolds on Snake 12, where the fish had shoaled to his right where the wind was laying. Paul, fishing long pole and soft pellet, caught slowly and steadily for the first half of the match, then really “bagged” in the final 2 hours catch both decent carp and stockies to record 101-10 and a clear win.

Bart Simpson (Snake 4) caught a mixture od carp and skimmer bream on long pole and pellet for 44-02 and second place, John Adamson taking third sport from Snake 12 with 41-02 taken on paste.

Shaun Greenfield topped Reptile Lake (peg 17) with 30-04, Barry Rowlands second on the lake from peg 13 with 25-02.
NB. ‘NISA FEEDERS’ Opens are at Makins every Thursday on Phases 2 or 3. (£15 “all in” at the draw). Draw 8:45 am in Café, Phase 1 Car Park.
