        Report:
The match was held on the “Far Side” on the high numbers so that anglers were able to park behind their pegs, and this produced a superb match (which was reduced from 6 to 5 hours to reduce stress to the fish in keepnets during the hot weather conditions) with an average weight per angler of 120 pounds.

The two “end pegs” produced the tiop two weights. Martin Payne on peg 59 arrived at his peg to see carp wallowing in it as he tackled up. Once the match started and he had caught a couple on short pole the fish retreated further out into the lake but he still managed to tempt the odd one on bomb and pellets to end with a winning 158-11.

At the other end, Onslow (Chris Greenway) started on pellet waggler and had a couple early fish before switching to pole and pellet which produced several decent carp although he also lost several. By alternating between the two methods he kept catching steadily to end with 132-02 to take second place.

Third spot was taken by Mick Chapman (peg 66) who fished bomb and pellet throughout the match for his 129-08, as did Phil Altemus (peg 64) for his 122-08.

On peg 70 John Adamson caught most of his carp on bomb and pellet although he did catch two on method feeder fished, ending with 114-05 for fifth place, Tony Lamb taking sixth place with 101-04 from peg 68, mostly caught on pole and pellet (although he claimed to lose around 10 big fish) with some coming on the bomb.

Many thanks to Chris Horsley assisted by Martin Payne for their excellent scales-work and ensuring that all fish were returned unharmed.

NB. Nisa Opens are held at Meadowlands most THURSDAYS (see Facebook “Nisa – midweek open matches”). Book in at the venue at 8:15 am on match day.
