The Angling Trust are offering a unique opportunity to bid for equipment used by England International anglers, Alan Scotthorne, MBE and Steve Ringer.
There will be three separate auctions held over a period of 7 days per auction.
All the proceeds from these eBay auctions will go towards helping support the England Ladies and Veterans Coarse angling teams participate in the 2012 World Championships.
Auction Lot 1 – As used by Alan Scotthorne, MBE
Item 1. Shimano Aerocast Match 420
Max CW 15g 14/420mBidding to commence on Thursday 31st May 2012 at 8pm
Auction Lot 3 – As used by Alan Scotthorne, MBE
Item 2. Shimano Aerocast Match 420 FA
Max CW 20g 14/426mBidding to commence on Thursday 14th June 2012 at 8pm
These rods were used by five times World Champion Alan Scotthorne, MBE to win his last gold medal when fishing lake Valence, Hungary in 2007 and the European Championships in Coruche, Portugal 2010.There is also a short hand written note from Alan authenticating these rods.
Auction Lot 2 – As used by Steve Ringer
1 x Shimano Beast Master Commercial 12ft 6in Pellet Rod
Bidding to commence on Thursday 7th June 2012 at 8pm
The bag is autographed by Steve.
Steve Ringer is arguably the best commercial angler in England and won a silver medal in the first ever World Feeder Championships held in Italy in 2011.
Steve also won the individual gold medal to accompany the ‘A’ team gold medal in the European Feeder Friendly Championships held in Ghent, Belgium in April 2012, and has also been selected to represent England in the World Feeder Championships 7th/8th July 2012 in Ghent, Belgium.
The Angling Trust would like to thank Alan Scotthorne and Steve Ringer for donating these Rod’s to help the World Angling Championship teams who are trying to raise funds in order to participate in the 2012 World Championships.

TF_geepsterParticipantHate to set this off on a bad note but I actually find this pretty sad.
If this was for charity maybe, but to raise money for the teams to compete… grim.
I’m guessing it’s for the fringe teams – although it doesn’t say.
Perhaps someone from the Angling Trust can come on here and enlighten me??? -

TF_Fred DavisIt’s a terrible state of affairs Geeps and stems from the lack of financial support that the Angling trust has been able to generate, it’s time that any angler fishing at any level would have to be an angling trust member.How they do this I have no idea! All sports have a governing body, most other sports anyone playing their sport in a league has to be a member of the governing body, maybe they need to make the price of joining lower to get all anglers to join sea, course and game a fiver a man? But change needs to happen.

TF_NathanWatsonDave taylor at hayfield has given the lake over to them for a match to raise funds and places are available if anyone wants to fish, it’s this sat at hayfield 9 am draw. Breakfasts are available. Ring 07816 832551
