TF_Gary the gudgeonYet again Man.utd. benefit from a very dodgy refereeing decision thats 2 matches in a row after Fulham were denied a penalty. Once is lucky, twice a coincedence but more than 3 need an investigation. I make that 7 lucky? decisions this season for Man.Utd. can there be any satisfaction in cheating your way to a Title. Mr. Ferguson is very quick to point out when he feels his team have been hard done by.Yesterday Q.P.R. were hit with a DOUBLE WHAMMY.
TIME THE F.A. PUT THINGS IN ORDER.

TF_geepsterParticipantThat was indeed a pathetic and cowardly decision by the officials which completely ruined the game – apart from being offside (linesman in perfect position) it wasn’t even a foul let alone a red card – a clear dive by Young who should have been booked. For the neutral it was an awful game of Premiership football to watch. Pure dross. And yes that was a pen for Fulham in the last home game. But as for the title, Man City have blown it. They look in no sort of form to beat United anyway.

TF_DodgeThe standard of officals in the premier league has been diabolical this season , i think it is fair to say every club has suffered through poor decisions this season , City certainly have on several occasions leading to key players being suspended at vital stages of the season. Kompany was sent off in the FA cup after JUST 9 minutes against Man Utd for nothing also the ref couldnt get his red card out quickly enough after just 11 minutes at Old Trafford yesterday ……. it certainly begs the question and what on earth was the linesman playing at ? Wigan also suffered hugely at Stamford bridge , clearly 3 Chelsea players were clearly 2 yards offside , again HOPELESS officiating !
Man United are going to win the league with a record points total with arguably the worst squad they have had in 20 odd years ……. what does that say about the rest of the big teams ? City have been average at best since christmas , Spurs promised so much but caved in , Arsenal have bounced back and those fickle muppets calling for Wenger to go should hang their heads in shame , Chelsea are all over the place and miles from where they were and Liverpool …….. well they are the laughing stock ! LOL
As a lifelong City fan i couldnt possibly dream of winning titles , champions league football etc etc , it has now become reality in a short space of time which is what dreams are made of and i dont mind admiting to having a tear in my eye when standing next to my teenage son when City played Napoli at the Etihad,s first ever Champions League game , what a proud occasion that was, just City,s luck to be drawn in the hardest group and go out with 10 points , only the second team in history to do that …… sadly and alarmingly the fantasic attacking football of last summer and autumn highlighted by the 6 – 1 massacre of United at Old Trafford has vanished , City are still solid and resilient and very difficult to beat , something LOST on the media who,s treatment of MCFC has been disgraceful at times this season. Lastly i just hope the arabs dont panic and move Mancini on , he has made mistakes but so has Fergie over the years ….. City have come a long long way in a very short time and a couple percent of improvement on the pitch and a few mistakes learnt by Mancini and stats will tell you City will almost be there next season plus Fergie,s time as a manager is almost up …… WILL United be the same club when he does retire ? I DONT THINK SO 😉
Lastly and very importantly the MEDIA does in my opinion INFLUENCE what happens in the premier league (Sky Sports especially) and what does go on is ALARMING 😡 😉

TF_caster robParticipant“can there be any satisfaction in cheating your way to a Title. “
About as much as in buying it I’d guess.
Sky’s acquisition of the old first division instigated the decline of football as a sport and the actions of Chelsea and manchester City have accelerated it.
If City can’t win the title by raiding rival clubs of their best players I suppose the next logical step is to buy up whole clubs.
I used to be a season-ticket holder but I rarely bother to watch even on tv these days and I’m surprised anyone who enjoys sport even cares about football. The England team are still good for a laugh in international tournaments though, that’s when the true quality of the premier league is revealed but the devoted ignore this and continue in their denial.

TF_MICK THE BOOKIEARSENALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
I cant believe that my babies are 3rd.They were dire 2 months ago,and are still playing tippy tap football in front of goal.I was in despair yesterday at the chances missed, and was screaming at the telly all game…..so much so i nearly died of a heart attack.I just cant watch them anymore…they drive me insane.I was yelling at the buggers to have a shot for 1/2 the game.Jesus..i nearly fainted when Arteta heard my plea and hit one from outside the box to score……The bloody strain on my ticker nearly done me in.
For us to be in 3rd just shows(as Dodge points out)how bad the sides are this season……Man Utd fans must be laughing their heads off……Winning the premiership with the worse side they have ever had.
ARSENALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. :p :p :p :p :p :p -

TF_Big SiParticipantbeing an avid QPR fan i was working yesterday but saw the offside and sending off decision …. never is the word , thats 3 bad decisions linesman and refs have made in
our fight for survival campaign all in seriously crucial games , the goal against bolton which was clearly over the line hills header and the linesman had a clear view, the same as yesterday so if we go down the so called officials have cost us alot of money ….. 😡 😡 -

TF_TommoI’d agree with most of the comments above, some of the officiating has been awful this season.
However, credit where credit is due, other than the ref missing Ballotelli’s awful tackle on Song in the first half yesterday, I thought he had a good game – using common sense & choosing to play the advantage on several occasions thus allowing play to continue, and not blowing his whistle at every opportunity.

TF_JohnHAgree 100% with caster rob. The TV money has ruined football for me. It has just made some very average players into multi millionaires and driven some of our once great clubs into administration. Watching England is embarrasing, the quality of player is so poor compared to most teams. Its especially so when you add up the combined salaries of those on the pitch, in some cases single English players will be on more in a week than the total oposing team put together. Its just silly. Take the last world cup, which team combined salaries was higher than ours? (I think Spain might be closest.)
I dont blame the players for taking the money but its plain madness. The excessive rewards have brought on much of the cheating and conning referees, all teams do it the bigger ones get away with it.
Sadly I cant see anything changing so dont bother watching anymore other than the odd “highlights”. -

TF_Gary the gudgeonHow unusual utd. get another very fortunate penalty this time against Aston Villa, still they will feel a great achievement when they win the Premiership.
HOW SAD THAT THEY WANT TO WIN THIS WAY. -

TF_TommoTo all you man U haters & people with short memories, was it not only last week that Man U were denied a penalty against Wigan? I haven’t seen any comments about that.
Also has Ashley Young only become a diver over the past 2 weeks, or did he have a record of it whilst playing for Villa? If he did then why didn’t we hear about it then? Cos you’re all too busy concentrating on Man U that’s why!
I DO NOT SUPPORT MAN UNITED!
Just trying to see things from another angle.

TF_Kagger TNBHere’s another angle for you.
My team isn’t in the premiership, so with regard to all the latest controversies, i’m impartial, but i’m getting hacked off with wasting my time and money (my full sky subscription) to watch football where either erroneous refereeing decisions change the course of the game, or blatent cheating does the same.
ALL the major decisions that effect the outcomes of games lead to a break in play, goals, red yellow cards etc. Why not use video technology? It wont hold play up.
Why have double standards within the rules and their interpretation. Yesterday, Man Utd were given an advantage while attacking, and when play broke down, a Villa player was booked. Why wasn’t any action taken against Petr Cech?
And god knows why that QPR red card against Man Utd wasn’t overturned.
The whole thing is beyond a joke…

diddly-squattParticipantI’m a Wolves fan and the last 2 matches I’ve been to see for the first time in 15yrs+ were against Bolton and Arsenal and the refereeing at both was atrocious but the Arsenal game was the worst you’re definitely playing 11 men + the officials as it was so biased.
I’ve seen better decisions at a park game where someone is given a flag and asked to run the line. There’s definitely a club of teams that get decisions there way and it stinks, roll on the Chamionship at least it’s more of a level playing field where refereeing is concerned. -

Very well put Kagger !
There are actually people defending Man Utd on a similar thread on MFS and i being a City fan have been accused of being biased against Utd and the decisions they are unbelievably getting lately …..
Funny world innit 😮 😮 😉 🙂

TF_orexinaWith regards the Spurs ”no” goal, why didn’t the Chelsea players say it didn’t go in. Talk about dis-honesty, team spirit. It’s bol**cks.

TF_howsmichaAs for cheating and diving being a sole preserve of man u players i well remember 2or3 years ago Didier Drogba made the brave decision to call a halt to his antics when his 8 year old son asked him why he was allways falling down near the goalmouth. Coming from a player of his obvious ability it is a sad statement on todays mindset of trying to win at any cost and its taken the eyes of an innocent 8 year old to shame the man into admitting it.

17/04/2012 at 12:23 pm #157602
TF_TommoI think it’s a bit of a common misconception that foreigners are responsible for most of the diving in the Prem. Ashley Young was highlighted earier, but what about Gareth Bale? He is the only player to have been booked twice this season for simulation (nice word for cheating/diving).
Anyway, does no one not agree that Man U should have had a penalty against Wigan & didn’t get it? Not heard a peep on that one!
Cheers
Tommo

TF_JohnHTommo, I agree they should have had a penalty for handball, but Wigan should have been two up by then, the goal knocked off for the foul on the goal keeper was laughable.
The United cenre back was lucky to stay on as well after the clear foul after he had the yellow card in the first half.
I think even Fergie is becomming embarrassed by it all.
