I can think of at least 4 other players that I would like to see banned from playing for England namely ……….Gerrard, Crouch, Lescott, Walcott.
Funny the Daily Mail reports we have lost a World class forward in Rooney, if I were picking a World team would Rooney get in it, NO.

I can’t see gerrard getting in the side, no fitness. Lescott is only looking good because he’s got a world class defender next to him. Walcott can only hope for the odd sub appearances. Can’t slag crouch of with his goal record at international level.

Rooney was useless in the last World Cup in South Africa , this season however he has hit top form again for Man United and looks sharp and fitter. His sending off against Montenegro ……………… maybe his old fella had a bet on him getting a red card ? 😉 😀 😀

He shouldn’t go to the Euro’s, if we get through the group stage then the guys who did it should be good enough for the QF and dare I sat it beyond.

I couldn’t agree less.
Tournaments are (or should be) about gradually building confidence and improving.
So if we leave Rooney at home, exactly which world class, game changing forward are you going to replace him with?
I can’t think of a single international side that has won a tournament that did not have a world class forward.
I don’t think much of him as a man, but as a footballer he is the best we have got and by some distance.
He has to go even it it’s to be on the bench to call on in the quarters should we get there. If we don’t, it doesn’t matter anyway and one more average forward taken in his place would not have made any difference. I think it’s basically folly to even consider leaving our best forward at home.

Absolute Rubbish – we have to believe we are good enough to get through the group stage and think about how we could feasibly win the tournament.
As for France 98 I seem to recall them having a certain world class goalscoring No10 who played behind the front man and took players on.

I agree with MARKHLDAS.England are a lost cause,we as fans have been let down time after time.Now then i ask this……. are England a better team now than the shambles that turned out in the world cup finals in south africa ?

We do have some fantastic young players but the future isnt good at all in my honest opinion!

Don’t get me wrong I’m as passionate an armchair England fan as the next man (don’t go anymore since the welsh (Cardiff) threw a bag of piss on me head).

Rooney is one of our best players but I can’t see how you can plan for a Euro Finals when in the 1st 3 games your motivating the forward line by saying “one of you will be dropped” IF we get through, Therefore we need to start the build up of our offensive game next month against S & S and that MUST be without Monkey Head

Our England U21s did terribly last summer under Stuart Pearce , useless coach who still uses negative tactics (long ball shite) ……. he hasnt got a clue about one touch pass and move tactics (Spanish way) .We have top quality young players but the system England use is so outdated it is untrue ……… get my drift ! 😉

who rooney wanted to play for dodger is nothing to do with him playing for a shite team (england) with a shite manager (crappello) who cant even speak english. as it was proven when greece and denmark won ther euro,s its the team that win it not one player who the press/media use to sell their product, such is todays rooney. wait till 2 weeks before the contest and the press will have revaluations they,ve been sitting on for months about an england player. rooney last time , terry time before, god knows who,s turn it will be this time. englang will always be a crap outfit because no-one will give them 100% support because they hate either united or chelski/arsenal/liverpool so are negative about those players that dont play for their team. the press know that and use it to fuel there sales. would you ever think the Germany team would ever have to have these disruptions to their team leading up to the euro,s. not in your lifetime, we seem to have all the knuckledraggers over here. i as you may have judged hate england football team with a passion they mirror our armed forces lions led by donkeys. untill that changes i want no united players anywhere near that shite.

Lamps, Cole and JT have suffered big time with England. I can understand JT and Cashley but not Lumpard, Sure I’m biased, but he gives 100%, he’s not the most gifted but his effort is faultless, Gerrard the thug is a better all round player in my opinion and I wish he had come to the Bridge in 2006.
