Hi, after returning from about 15 years out of match fishing I am still elasticating my pole with regular elastic and after fishing a couple of matches have started to think about using hollow elastic – i currently use 10’s and 12’s for commercial carp fishing which I have landed upto 8lb carp on however it took a while and had to use 4 or 5 sections to land the fish.

my question is should i move to hollow elastics? should i use a puller bung and could i use a puller bung with standard elastic?

any help would be appreciated, cheers

if you have 4 or 5 sections in the air you possibly will end up breaking your pole pretty soon. i would go hollows and pulla bungs, i would reccommend the frenzee elastics.

Buy some Preston pulla bungs and use double 5, double 6 or double 8 elastic which will cover most of your fishing, apart from catching margin zoo creatures.
you can either buy the original Preston slip and double the lengths yourself (what I do) or buy the Preston stuff thats already doubled up.
Much cheaper than most hollows to get you used to catching carp on top kits and pulla bungs.

cheers chaps, dont fancy breaking my pole so will get it sorted, thinking about doubling the elastic up sounds like a good idea.

thanks for the help, much appreciated!
