Had a great weekend as a team we won the post office national teams of four at woodland veiw, I think this is the only big postal/civil service match we havern’t won teamwise, in the past having finished second twice 3rd and a lowly 4th from 27 teams last year we thought this one might elude us, however all the previous matches had been in september, as for my match I was drawn on back deans and won the lake with 46lb 4oz, top two weights was 55lb and 50lb from high pool so I ended up 3rd overall on the day, it didn’t matter as the payout was sections only and the rest team pools, team mates John brennan came 4th in his section of 16 on arles with 27lb + Tony Corbett 5th in his section with 24lb+ on front deans and Steve Groves 6th in his section with 22lb+ from high pool, with just two points in front of exeter who were second there was little breathing space and with 3 teams tied on 3rd place it shows how tight it was on a venue that had suffered from a very hard frost on the morning, it was great to see plenty of the lads new and old, and thanks must of course go to Andy Stone and the lads at Woodland Veiw who again did a marvelous job. Also to a lot of the lads many previous winners who were very generous in there congrats thanks lads warmly appreciated by all of us, was good to see Cockney again hope you catch plenty on the floats, I have a feeling you’l like using those :o)Must also thank fellow london team mates Nordis who we shared digs with and had a great weekend so Rod, Ross, Fred and billy I owe you a pint :o)

Well done for your win Fred – your team fished a very good match with good section placings. Our team 6th overall with a poor weight from me of 9lb 5oz from Front Deans. This wrecked any chance we had with a 39lb off Back Deans, 21lb off High & 24lb off Arles. I took me over 2 hours to get a bite & it was even more difficult for the chaps next to me with a blank & a 1lb 2oz. This is the one that has eluded you in the past so well done again.

Looking forward to using your floats & see at Woodland View next year.
