Preston 8 Tube Holdalls Info Please

  I am after a new holdall and these are the ones…but do i need a 8 or 12 tube.
  If you have an 8 tube one please give me a clue what you get in…ie…how many top kits with 5 green tubes..etc.

  DAZ,i have the 8 tube competition holdall.and 6 normal rod sized 2 1/2 inch tubes is just possible to fit inside..you will get 8 tubes in if you use the smaller 2 inch tubes.so if you are using normal sized rod tubes,and need to carry more than 6,go for the bigger holdalls.

  If you mean the new “soft” ones that cost around £55 I went for the 12 tube but I carry a lot of pole and top kits – I have the rive 9 tube hardcase previously and it simply wasnt big enough.
  
  In the preston I carry two 13m poles; 3 extensions and up to 4 tubes of top kits – 3 oval colmic ones and a 5″ black type. Can also fit in a brolly if needed, feeder arm, Rive roost and half but extension.
  
  You need to think about what u may carry, personally I always err on the bigger size as even if you only need loads of kits occasionally it not great if it wont fit in the holdall!

  I use the monster 8 tube, softcase. i carry 2 16m poles in 5 tubes (i keep a striker kit in 1 extention), 3 tubes for top kits, 1 tube with number 4’s spare 5, and theres still a bit of room! it isnt a tight squeeze either! side pocket holds my 2 landing net poles and feeder arm (plenty of room for more), i dont use an umbrella. Ihope this helps.

  oh right wizard….thats put me in a bit of a quandry.
  I usually carry Maver Elite pole(4 green tubes) + 1 greentube withspares in and 11 top kits in Preston Top Tubes.
  Brolly(hardly use it tho),landing net handle.
  Will this lot fit in the 8 tube.
  Its not a big issue but i would sooner the tubes be nice n snug and not loose and rattling about.

  More than big enough. and the side pocket will fit you umbrella in with ease.

  Wish i had of listened…..i went to look at the holdalls today and i thought the 8 tube would be too small so i opted for the 12 tube….beep,beep,beep…its too big.I bought it from a shop near my lads which i wont be going near again for ages which is a beeping beep…lol.
  so if anyone is gonaa buy one of these and lives in the North Manchester area(Rochdale),get the 8 tube and i will swap you
