        If I have 3 messages that I have written being displayed in my ‘outbox’ as opposed to ‘messages sent’ which I assume means they haven’t gone. How do I get them to send?

          You don’t.

          If this is like other forums they reside in your outbox until they’re read by the recipient.

          Once they’ve been read, they appear in your ‘sent’ folder.

            Yep, it’s telling you they were sent but haven’t been read yet. Which is useful.
