i have several Airity 3012 reels (awesome bit of kit) whilst fishing yesterday one of them has gone tits up. first i noticed that when i was reeling in (no fish on) it was making a clicking sound. then i went to cast out and the bailarm wont go back on its own i had to do it manualy.
then as you go to cast out, you flick the bailarm open and put your finger on the spool to trap the line then bring the rod back the reel would rotate so the bailarm is in the way, so when you cast you cannot put your finger on the line to feather it.
any ideas on the above probs, i have had these reels for a couple of years.

Possibly one of two things: either you have bent the bail arm or the mechanism that forces the bail to close has faulted. It has a lifetime bail spring so it will be repaired if you send it back to Daiwa Service, Netherton Ind Est, Wishaw, ML2 0EY.

As a bit of advice, never wind a reel shut – always close the bail manually if you can. It saves ever trapping line, leading to break-offs.

              Mine did the same thing.
Sent it back to daiwa and they sent it back still doing it.
Just as i was starting to think about ebay here we come i noticed the large screw at the end of the bailarm had loosened slightly, i tightened it up and the problem stopped and never came back.
I’d check that screw out before you send it back.
