TF_colboroDo you think about fishing all the time, when you are driving, watching TV,taking a shower, walking the dog or whatever you are supposed to be doing. I do all the time,my next match ,what baits, what tactics, where will i draw, is it normal to be like this?.
Thanks colboro. -

TF_NW Cut AnglerHi Jon, other than drawing the plum peg from the bag are there any little tricks/edges you can suggest for an angler fishing caster on a ‘standard’ canal for bonus fish?
With you career in angling publishing what do you see as the future in the next decade for such publications? Will online eventually replace paper? Any plans (non top secret ones) in the next 12 months for APF?
5 Top Tips for a Whiteacres Festival Virgin?
As a draw bag legend do you have any routine that you follow at the draw? Early to draw? Late to draw? Shake the bag? Take the first one you touch?
Thanks

TF_GavinWorking for DHP within the angling press must have given you a fairly good helping hand in reaching the level you are at now, where do you think you’d be if you’d never worked within the angling press?

TF_GALPSHi John,
would you say that it is best to tackle a new venue the same way as the regulars or fish to your own methods / strengths regarding tactics and feeding?
Thanks

TF_jimmybHi Jon.
Which way can you see commercial matches going in the future as there are now 200lbs plus being caught,it is now getting on some venues you have to use 3 nets, in the very near future it will be 4 nets then five, So that is extra expense but the entry fee will go up as peg fees to. Will that mean the average angler will get squeeze out of entering,if so that will mean less anglers taking part, then to make it worthwile the entry fee will go up again.
What is your thoughts, -

TF_scarfJon
How do you balance your personal life and your fishing to get so much time for fishing?
I realise fishing is your job now and that must help, but are you just lucky, or very careful, in your choice of the right woman, or is there some secret technique that we could all learn to keep our women sweet whilst we spend all our spare time fishing?
Please treat this request as urgent! -

When making rigs up for pole fishing how long would you leave them on winders assuming you have not used them all season?.Would you be happy to use them after a year or would you trash them and make them up again?

TF_wildingukA much covered but topical subject, what do you think lies at the heart of the decline in team fishing and how do you think the sport should combat it?
What do you think of the angling trust after its first year, what have been its accomplishments, and its failures, and how can it be improved as the organisation that represents our sport?
What can be done to stem the decline in junior anglers in our sport?

greybeardParticipantJon, having trouble with foulhooking fish.
Its a 14m wide snake lake, the far shelf (where the problems occur) is 2’9″ deep. In the warmer months a method feeder for the first hour was the perfect answer, now its gone colder and clearer the methods not working.
4mm expander, maggot and bread are the best baits, have tried fishing shallow, pop-ups, fishing away from feed – still fouling 80% of the carp. If you dont feed you dont get bites.
What would you try Jon? -

Could you explain to me why when I am fishing for F1’s on the feeder they pull the rod off the rest but when pole fishing the bite is the merest dip of the float. I know it’s a difficult one but give it your best shot.

TF_gloves007ukJon,
With the way match fishing has changed over the years with regards to the introduction of commercial fisheries and the rivers and canals numbers in decline to what it was years ago do you feel the up and coming stars have the skills and knowledge to be true all rounders to compete for a place in the mighty Drennan team England squad in the future and if so who do you see making a brake through in the near futurecheers
