Result of Redditch Federation / AVVC Open contest on Arrow Valley Lake, Redditch
17.9.10, the fourth of a series of 5 Open matches being run over the summer.
Despite a lowish turn-out due to clashes with several other events and the change to cooler autumn conditions some decent weights were taken by the twenty anglers taking part.
Match winner Keith Woodhead (Lodge Park AC) broke the domination of anglers using feeder tactics with an excellent catch of 42lb 13oz taken on the pole from peg number 54.
Keith fished at about 11 metres and had one double figure carp on maggots plus a rake of skimmers on pellets for a good win following some good results on the pole in previous matches..
Runner-up Phil Brown (Quality Baits) took 12 nice bream on the method feeder with dead red maggot hookbait, casting tight to the island on peg 30 for 37lb 13oz.
Young Redditch Angler Adam Hemming (Lodge Park AC) also fished the method for 3 carp plus 6lb of skimmers and a 26lb 15oz catch for third spot, ahead of Mick Tremlett (Kingfisher Angling) with 14-0-8 of pole caught skimmers and Andy Green (Reddich) fifth with 13-0-8.
