I dont know many people on here who fish Blackrock, or the Severn at Bewdley.
I would give Mal Storey’s a call at Kiddy, they may have a better idea.
If you have never been there before, i would keep away from the rock itself as not only does it run fast and very, very deep in places, but the fish know there environment. they break for the over hanging submerged ledges and break 8lb line as though it were cotton. Over the rock, down stream, into the next meadow, its alot shallower and the pace drops off considerably. I would go with pellets banded and pellets in the feeder.
River should be up though due to the recent rain.

Drive up to Arley footbridge and fish in the field downstream. Or walk 800 yards up and fish opposite bank farm. These places are fishing it’s socks of for barbel. Hair rigged pellet with pellets in a feeder

Many Thanks for both your replies. Only said blackrock as I had read about it, never been.
Think I will phone storey’s, as I could not walk the 800 yards at Arley and the fast deep water at blackrock sounds a bit daunting. Have a slight problem being unsteady with Parkinsons, so have to be careful. Again many thanks for your help.

You could have a word in Stan Lewis’s shop on Severnside South in Bewdley town.
For easy access a BAA day-ticket for Ribbesford No1 meadow on the roadside would probably suit you.

There’s day ticket water on Arley right bank below the Harbour in and you can park behind your peg also on the left bank behind what was the Valencia Inn but you will need a BAA day ticket.

Hey! Thanks Diddly, sounds perfect. Any idea how both stretches are fishing. Also what baits?
Problem is when your getting older, the river pegs you used to fish are now no no,s due to safety reasons, but oh how I miss the rivers.
