with the deeper of those depths I would add leam to any mix, to make it heavier and get it down.

I have an old copy of pole fishing when sean ashby fished against scotthorne on the stainy, which is similarly deep to the gloucester. Scotthorne used his g5 with molehill soil, sean ashby used 50-50 sensas canal black and canal fine with leam added.

I’ve tried many mixes and groundbaits, and to be fair have yet to settle on one for roach I am 1005 happy with. The frenzied hemp groundbaits have been good to me, as has van den eyde secret, also sensas noire. Most of my fishing is on the nene though. I have, but am yet to try, the van den eyde G5.

For a stickier heavy mix, give van den edye secret mixed 50-50 with roach a try, darken it if need be, and add some weight with molehill or leam on those really deep pegs. Or you could try 50-50 noire and lake black, which skimmers will enjoy too.

Best advice though, try some different mixes and see what works for you on your venues
