        Rob Wootton joins Shimano UK
Shimano UK is delighted to announce that one of the country’s top match anglers Rob Wootton will be joining the company as a sponsored angler with immediate effect.
Leicestershire-based Rob, who is also sponsored by bait giant Dynamite Baits, will play an integral role in the promotion of the company’s products on the banks and throughout the angling media. He will also assist in developing future products created specifically for the UK market.
Shimano Normark’s Marketing Manager Steve Cole commented: “Rob is one of the most prominent figures in the UK angling press at present and he is an exceptionally talented angler who has proved that he is far more than just a commercial expert over the last few years with big victories on canals and rivers as well as appearances in big money finals such as Fish ‘O Mania.
“We’re delighted to have Rob joining the Shimano team and feel that it will only make the brand stronger,” added Steve.
Rob had this to say about the deal: “I had a great time with Middy and made some great friends in my time with the company but when the opportunity came along to join a company as large as Shimano came along it was too good to turn down.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team at Shimano and the move can only help to benefit my fishing,” added Rob.
Rob relinquishes all ties with his previous sponsor Middy Tackle with immediate effect.

I always wonder what top anglers do with all their old gear when they sigh for a different company and what they think of the old gear
