Perhaps someone can help. I have an old feeder rod that I am very fond of but the corks have shrunk, it needs re-ringing and re-varnishing and I would like to change the old sliding reel fittings for a lightweight screw winch fitting.

I appreciate that I could probably buy a new rod for what it is going to cost in repair fees and postage but the blank is perfect for what I need and I have grown used to it.

If anyone can do it or knows of a really good rod builder who is likely to take on the task perhaps they could pm me with a telephone number.

        Thanks

Bob “The Rod” Davies at Foster’s of Birmingham.

Funnily enough I was just thinking of having the same sort of thing done to some of my rods that are looking a bit tired but perform faultlessly. Let me know what the cost is and I may take a trip over there.

another vote for Bob the rod at Fosters.

He transformed my tatty old Normark Titan into something that looks like it has just come out of a tackle shop! and it only cost about 20 quid!

If you are on about the one Chris Orme does Mick, it is/was built on a Harrison blank and is similar to the old Image rod. Last time I spoke to him (which was a couple of years ago now!), it was around the £130 bracket from memory for the standard build.
