        Does anyone know what rod Alan used in the home nations fisho to catch the skimmers?

          It was a Shimano aerocast as I caught sight of the grahics on the Sky footage. Suspect it was a 13 foot rod but cant be certain.

            Is that the rod with the oval blank?
            I noticed he played the fish with the rod parallel to the bank and the side of the rod facing the fish.

              Yes it is the oval blank. I have the feeder rod. Alan is sponsored by Shimano so its no surprise he was using their rod.
              I always play fish like Alan did, its easier to get them in if you pull them the way they would normaly swim!
              Less pressure on hook hold too as skimmers have soft mouths and can easily be lost on small hooks.
