TF_Kagger TNBJust recently getting back into it, I needed a new box. My previous box was an ASI, and if they still made them, I’d have bought another one.
Anyway, I bought a Daiwa Tournament 400. Two matches in, I really don’t like it. It’s got to go.
The side draws are too shallow, the winder storage is too deep, the wheel kit is completely useless(unless I guess all you do is fish venues that have tarmac paths around them), and there’s no room to put big stuff like reels. I bought it thinking that ‘big stuff’ would go in my holdall, but i’ve got more big stuff than just two reels and it’s annoying.
Any reccomendations?

TF_Kagger TNBI’ve got 6 floats and haven’t used one yet lol.
I’m more or less sorted for kit apart from about a thousand rigs and a decent box to put them in.
Yare Rod reccomended an MSB. I’ll have to have a look.
Does anyone in east anglia stock Rive’s? I want the next box I buy to last as long as my old ASI, and dont want waste more money on something I can’t get on with. That’s not to say i’ve made a decision. I’m completely open minded.
I look forward to catching up mate, either using FOD’s or pint pots 🙂

TF_BrydonParticipantI think glen is the only one who doe em, the only thing i think with them is that you need a hell of a lot expensive accessories to make them work, then a new car to fit it in and a new barrow to carry it on lol, although they are a brilliant system. but i just think theyre really bulky micks got one and he thinks its brilliant.

TF_Yare RodThe thing I thought would be a novelty on the new wave of boxes was the built in spirit levels, I must say I have found them invaluable. Dan prefers 3 pint bait boxes to fine tune the level.
Dan, Karl was a bit concerned about the accuracy of his casting on his first matches- some smart arse suggested ‘casting where he fed’ 🙂

TF_Waveney OneGet yourself a s/h Brilo Eurobox, there is one on eBay at the moment. I still use mine for the Yare and have done for 20 years or more!

TF_Mike Herringtonanother vote for the brilo, had a maver mx3500 and a rive st, both too big, heavy and cumbersome. not enough room in them. a brilo with 6″ base and 3 – 4 pole trays, and 2 x 1.5″ cross drawers will set you back about 330 notes. Small, compact and light.

AnonymousThe Fox MSB Euro 1 is a fantastic bit of kit, extremely stable on even the worst banks. I’ve had it set up on all types of ground like mud, gravel and so on and it’s not moved an inch even when standing on the footplate. They have 6 telescopic legs which come in very handy, a lot of other boxes only have 4 telescopic legs. A fairly light box too, lighter than a Rive that’s for sure. The best place to get one is Danson Angling as they give you £100 worth of Fox accessories for free.
