Looking to get a new box. Any suggestions – don’t want to pay silly rive prices.

You’ll get a lot of positive comments on here regarding the Fox Euro MSB and the standard Fox MSB. I love mine: very spacious, flexible and comfortable,e specially as the box can be height adjusted independently from the footplate. it can’t be said to be light, though.

Buy a 2nd hand Rive then, you wont get a better box.

I swopped my Rive for the the Fox box cos it was a backbreaker. The Fox is very well made and nice and compact but not as atable is you need to get out in the water etc.
Whatever happened to the Garbo “office stool” box ? Not even DC uses one now. Must have guiloteened the designer.

Have you had a look at the Matchbox S Class range? Really well made, rock solid when set up, loads of room plus with the stacking system you can keep on adding to it. Won’t cost the earth either.

Whats wrong with the Maver MX Mike ??
I have the MSB Euro and love it but the back-up service isn’t the best. One of the brass ferules on the legs snapped off as it had a fault in the casting, I sent that back 2-3 months ago and still no reply or return.
The stitching has come away on the seat cushion and the material is all torn so I sent that back 1 month ago and still nothing. I get no reply to emails and no joy on the phone.
I have had to buy another box to use while it gets sorted out, which I could have done without.

rive all the way, at least you wont have to replace it every couple of years. Built for quality not for the short term~clap

I’ve got a rive and no complaints but the new Maver boxes look the biz and the extendable leg system is superb

I have the Maver MX3500, Maver is really really really stable, but!!

Too heavy, too big. Also, because of the sliding cassette footplate locking mechanism and the main frame locking mechanism being separate and being on top of each other, if your feet are not on the foot plate, your feet are not flat on the floor when you turn to the side and you can’t lower the frame/footplate any lower.

From the seat to the floor, you are a minimum of about 20″ to a flat bank, if the bank slopes, it is worse. That is as low as the frame will go.

Also, personally, I do not think it comes with enough pole trays/drawers so will have to buy another one (i made an insert tray to putting inside one of the deeper trays).
