TonyJ formerly BlunthookA mate is selling the above pole, it comes with 3 match and 2 power kits and has been used 5 times.
It is in mint condition and comes with the holall it was supplied with. He is looking for £1000 for it.
Reason for sale is he is wanting the new Preton pole.
Also 2 spare fours and a garbolino extendable cupping kit.It now transpires that there may be a total of 9 tops with this pole, the extra four are not shimano but i am told that you can’t tell the difference. -

TF_Paul EdwardsHow does this compare to other top end poles? I have just sold my g8 and I am hopeful of picking up a second hand top end pole for about a grand. I know weight is not supposed to be an issue on balance but this pole weighs nearly 200g heavier than the PRO. Is it up to commercials and how much are the power/match kits?
Sorry for so many questions but there seems to be loads of poles for sale and I want to make the right decision. -

TF_poleanglerHi,
Don’t know where you got your weights from.“know weight is not supposed to be an issue on balance but this pole weighs nearly 200g heavier than the PRO”.
But this is lighter than a Pro which is 1390 while the Aspire is 1324grms I believe
and by all accounts is on par with most top range poles.
Only cost of topkits & spares puts most off. -

TF_Paul EdwardsI got the weights from the Shimano website which states 1590, but having now looked on google I agree it seems lighter than the Pro.
How much are the top kits, can’t seem to find any prices. -

If you are heavy handed which i am then i would agree with you. But if you take your time and don’t rush things then there should be no problems.
I have been told that some top notch anglers are using this pole for all their carp fishing using elastics up to black hydro. -

TF_Paul EdwardsI am not sure wether it is me or not but I seem to be having a mare, I followed newbie’s link and saw some very expensive spares, so thought I would have a look at Billy Clarkes site and followed the link to shimano spares and got a different price list? Which one is right http://www.billyclarke.co.uk/index.php?cPath=359_24_431_205
