TF_drawbag1967Try this 50% Sonubaits F1, 50% Bag em Expander, Yellow Tracix, used this on a natural lake in Essex last year, fished 6 matches on various pegs around this 60 peg venue and framed in every one, skimmers love it.

TF_buygoodtackleParticipantMay sound daft but Sensas Gros Gardons – yes I know it is meant for roach but on the natural venues I’ve tried it on the skimmers love it!

TF_allyParticipantAnother vote for gros gardons but with sensas lake and brown crumb. If you want a dark mix either use one or other of the sensas groundbaits dark varietys or add some blak tracix.

TF_baitchefParticipantWhat are you using the groundbait for, as feed or as a carrier?

TF_fishcatcher4sonu baits F1.i fished for skimmers a lot last year on a natural venue and the F1 was perfect fishing fluro pinkie or expander pellet over it.

I still believe in sweet over fishmeal on natural waters that have seen little pellets etc.

Yet another for Sensas Gros Gardons but I use Gros Gardons Noire 1/4 with Secret 1/4 Sensas Bream 20000 1/4 and some brown and white crumb to make up the mix. I use it in the R. Yare through a feeder.

TF_Waveney OneOn a lake I would exchange the Secret for Superlake.
-
20/04/2011 at 10:57 am #138533
TF_Waveney OneWorm and caster but if there aren’t too many tiny fish then I would put a load of squatt in as well.

No squatts available over here for about 20 years and fishmeal groundbait is a gamble as it can equate to perch city.~think

Go the sweet route then IMO. Skimmers love vanilla / brasem but never found Perch liked it much.
In Ireland I would probably mix commercial products with brown bread crumb

We have a similar problem on the river Yare, feed anything with fish meal in and the bream, skimmers and roach back right off. I have tried it 3 times in matches with disastrous results and know plenty of others who have similarly come unstuck with fish meal.
Local commercials and the skimmers cannot get enough of fish meal and pellets.

TF_lloydy1970Think it depends on whether they have seen any pellets
