      2018 SEASON
      DATE: 5 AUGUST 2018
      1st Paul RICHARDSON 141-12
      2nd Les SMEDLEY 104-08
      3rd John ADAMSON 100-06
      4th Rob PEMBRIDGE 86-02
      5th Dave COTTERILL 81-10
      =6th Malc MUNN 65-12
      =6th Paul MARRIOTT 65-12

Last week’s winner Paul Richardson (on peg 2) continued his good form with another win. Some fish were showing on the far bank’s shallow water to Paul’s left, which is where he targeted them with a small feeder. His catch rate continued for the first half of the match to place 40-50lbs of 2-3lb sized carp in his nets.

After priming his left and right margin swims with micros and dead maggots, Paul continued to catch, and using two worms on the hook he attracted some of the better sized carp from both margins swims, especially during the last hour of the match. When the scales arrived Paul’s 141-12 was more than enough for a clear win.

Les Smedley took second place with another excellent ‘ton plus’ weight of 104-08 from peg 37. Les had a very simple match catching steadily all day using seven sections of pole and paste hook bait.

John Adamson completed the top three ‘ton plus’ weights from peg 12 (three different banks produced the top three weights!). John caught small carp on method feeder during the first hour light to far bank reeds, before switching to pole and paste at 11.5m where he caught bigger samples. Unfortunately the freshening wind 90 minutes from the end curtailed his sport and time wasted in starting another swim closer to him ended his chances and he had to be content with 100-06 for third place.

Rob Pembridge took fourth with 86-02 from peg 10, Dave Cotterill filled fifth place with 81-10 from peg 38 and sixth place was tied between Paul Marriott (peg 19) and Malc Munn (peg 32) both with 65-12.
