TF_moto46Tried the titled waggler adaptors at Barford lakes last weekend and lost a £4 pellet waggler whilst casting out as in the silicone holding the float on came off the adaptor. Surely this is an obvious design fault and they should not be sold in shops like this (I had been casting for half hour not far out about 30yds)
Now I understand that an ‘improved’ version is available in shops but obviously in some shops the old design is still on the shelves to buy (name no names) so I would advise looking out for these badly designed models.
I will carry on using these adaptors but will superglue the silicone one for future use just annoying I had to chuck away a brand new pellet waggler to find this out. -

TF_Col_WI had the same problem with them which is pxxs poor considering the price.
The silicone always seems to part company with the metal – superglued them together which is ok for a while and then works loose again.
Not seen the new design, but will look out for them.
Great idea just badly designed joining of the two materials. -

TF_stavyou need to glue the silicon to the metal part but not with superglue as it goes brittle when exposed to water, two part araldite is the stuff to use never had a problem with them since.

TF_GLEBE1Being a tight arse i made my own!!
I bought a few drilled bullets and selected the ones that suited the floats. All you have to do is find a suitable material for the “peg” i used some carbon offcuts, drill a hole for the peg perpendicular to the one already running through the bullet for the line then Araldite it in place.
Once thats dry i drilled through the hole for the line with a slightly bigger drill and glued in a piece of tube (from a WD40 can or similar)and flushed it off.
This acts as a liner and is kinder to the line passing through and also locks the peg into place so it will never pull out.Use some old catty laggy to attach the float and lock it all in place with some sliding float stops and Bob’s your uncle.
Hope that makes sense and if you can use a drill and have the bits it literally takes minutes.

you must be using the updated adaptors which now have the silicone glued on with a ball at the top of the metal rod to prevent the silicone slipping off. An issue has been identified as I swapped mine for the decent versions in my local today – be warned people the old ones could still be on the shelves!

TF_Col_WGlebe that sounds like a spot on method – I will get some bullets and give it a go.

TF_paul a wDont you find that using these adapters that your float dives under the water alot more on casting, even tried feathering the float as it his the water, still seems to dive to deep for me.

TF_DecaffDon’t use any adaptors now, used to fold back line onto a loop & place shot on there, using a normal float adaptor, but it does mean you can’t alter the depth you are fishing.Have just changed to Dave Brittain’s method of twisted line, still slightly limited in depth, but you can go from 12″ to 24″,seems excellent so far!

Mine don’t dive but I put that down to the softer catty laggy and leaving 10mm between the peg and bottom of the float creates a hinge so the float folds on itself and slaps the water.
