TF_MICK THE BOOKIE~clap ~clap ~clap ~clap. Here we go lads, the result you have all been waiting for.25 quality river anglers fished this match today in preparation for the biggy “The Thames Champs on the 18th of September.
Weather was overcast at the start, and gradualy got a tad windy at the end, making it very hard in many pegs to fish the Pole easily.1st.Mark Goddard(peg17 in the brambles)…18lb 02oz.
Mark caught steadily through the day, catching Dace and the ocassional Roach to 8oz on Caster and Maggot. He fed plenty after balling in at the start, and would have had a better weight but ran out of Groundbait with an hour to go after feeding 3kg during the session
2nd.Mark Sandford(peg 12)……15lb 08oz.Steady all day and had 2 Perch to 1 and a half pound,to make up his good all round net.
3rd.Sod(peg 14)….15lb 03oz.Fished a very tidy match, and without a 1 hour dead spot half way in would surely have troubled the 2 Marks.
4th.Jimmy Archer(peg 25)….12lb 12oz.Young 70 year old James stuck to the tip all day,and was the only angler to catch Bream. He had 2 for about 9lb,a Hybrid of about a pound, and made up his weight with small Dace and Roach.Section 1…J.Wilson(peg 2)…11 lb 14oz(Pole).
Section 2…S.Collins(peg 15)…11lb 05oz(Pole).
Section 3…Terry Maddox(peg 20)…8lb 13oz(Pole).I have to say overall i think all the lads that fished enjoyed their day on the Thames. Most had between 5lb and 8lb of Dace and Roach, and all seemed to want to fish the stretch again in the future.
For that reason i will be arranging matches on the “Father” after the “Thames Champs”,so keep your eyes peeled to book on in the coming months.
Many thanks for all your interest and involvement mon fellow anglers, and i hope to see you all again soon….MTB. -

TF_PikeyWould that be the Mark Goddard and Steve Collins that were booked in as part of a team to fish my Charity match and after I’d booked another lake and amended all the pegging just to let them fish, they couldn’t even be bothered to give me a ring and let me know they weren’t fishing.

TF_MICK THE BOOKIEDave…I am really sorry that the 2 matches clashed. You know that i would have fished your Charity bash if i had known it was on the 29th.Unfortunately i was asked to arrange a Thames match on and around the said date,as it was coming up to the Thames Champs.Once i had picked the date i couldnt change it,as the anglers had all been told.
I obviously didnt know about Mark and Steves involvement with yours, and was therefore in the dark on that matter.I am really pleased that yours went so well, and the result looks brilliant. Also for the money raised for the Rainbow Trust….Well done mate as usual…MICK.

Roger….Yes mate, everyone down this end is looking forward to the 18th September when the Thames Champs will be decided. There are some quality anglers fishing, including England team members,so we are hoping that we have more rain in the coming weeks.
P.S……Have you been up the hill that Mancini has had built on the training ground.Apparently old Herbie cant even get up it once let alone train on it.Mind you he has trouble getting up anything these days….poor old sod…lol. ~naughty ~naughty ~naughty ~shh ~shh ~shh -
