I know theres a few glebe regulars on here, so hope you can advise.
I’m Looking for some decent matches with consistent fishing over the winter and am thinking of getting a winter ticket so i can fish the winter league matches…

Whats the craic on the matches? is it all bomb and feeder or can you still catch on the pole through winter?

Also, do you just turn up on the morning or do you need to book in?

Looking at the rules on the mallory website, I’m not sure i’d be able to use my rubber nets- although they’ve got the water lily mark on them… Can anyone confirm?

        Cheers in advance

        Tony

My advice would be dont think about it, do it!!!

Good winter fishing, yes you can catch on the pole all through the winter, you can even get away with 2 lines, one long corn and pellet
and one at the bottom of the near shelf (5/6m)pellet/caster.

Bomb and bread scores well, also tiny feeder with micros and maggot.

One things for sure you dont just sit there for a few bites, you can work at it, suss the feeding and you’ll have a days fishing.

Go on the website and have a look in the archives, most of last years winter league results are posted you’ll see how good the fishing is~clap ~clap

My old man has just signed up for a winter ticket even though he lives in South Yorkshire! I went a couple of weeks ago as a guest and had an awesome day’s fishing – it’s definitely worth the petrol. Not sure what lake we were on, but we had some massive carp – almost half of the fish we had were doubles and none were smaller than 6lb!
