I have booked the 16th and 17th off work and after thinking where to go, I fancy a go on the Thames.
I have fished the venues from Staines down to Teddington many times in autumn or winter and it is brilliant, but I don’t recall ever trying on the opening days. I know there will be boats of all kinds, and it could be gin clear with little to no flow, so what would you do ?

Simon, I fish the lower regularly around teddington, my advise would be to fish very early morning (get there when its dark)fish the feeder for bream with maggot/corn etc to be honest I think its more than easy to dry net in daylight hours early in the season so it’ll either be an early get up or a late one when the light starts to fail. If you ever need aconfidence boost that the fish are there get there at dawn and you’ll see bream and carp everywhere!!
