  This is a great sponsorship deal for both alan and drennan.probably every angler wether match,club,or pleasure style owns at least one drennan item in their tackle box. 🙂

  I know we have had all the speculation on which is the best pole before but i cant wait to see what Alan ends up with. I bet the tackle companies are thinking the same 🙂 🙂 🙂

  Not at all, but haven’t they only got the one model at the moment? Was looking at their site today and could see a 16m pole and a margin pole.
  
  But I am sure he will work hard to get improve their whole rod and pole range…

  That will be the end of really good silverfish rods then. The original blue ultegra was brilliant, pre scotthorne. The scotthorne designed ultegra an unbalanced broomhandle. imo. Glad the finesse/silverfish/classic are already out.
  However he is a great ambassador and brilliant angler obviously.I just hope the engineers at drennan can teach him how to make carbon come alive.

  Very true.
  
  I used to buy Shimano rods and poles with hardly a second thought at one time.
  
  I haven’t bought anything of theirs since Kevin left.
  
  The float rods were useless for river fishing.
