Report:
Everyone expected Reptile to dominate weights in the Thursday KOBRA Open at Dynamite Baits Makins, but it was Snake that filled the top spots.
Long Eaton based angler John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) was not too pleased with Snake peg 25, but his decision to approach it with an out and out feeder attack payed off. By fishing a tiny feeder in lots of different places he picked off fish steadily throughout the match to end with 25 carp and a bream for 94 lb 4 oz and a clear win.
Second placed John Kidd (Hawksbury) on Snake 15 fished pole with maggot and corn along both margins. He also caught throughout the match and had carp of all sizes, skimmers, tench and roach for a total of 78 lb 4 oz.
John Ricketts (Swann Baits Mosella) took third place from Snake 7 with a carp catch of 50 lb 2 oz, mostly big fish on pole and paste from the margins.
Next week’s Thursday open (23 September) will be on Phase 3 (Thames and Inner Avon)
