A lot depends on how many fish you might ‘need’ though. If you only need one or two then it is sometimes worth perservering with a dying line.
Time spent at Tunnel Barn teaches you to rotate. There, if you don’t get an indication in 30 seconds you swap swims!
THe other thing is the line’s location: Shallow lines or lines next to a feature are more likely to get a ‘spook’ reaction so therefore you are better off coming off them as you are probably not fishing in a swim with any fish in it. Drop to a secondary line and you may bag a fish or two while the fish return to your main line.
