Ideally you want Shallowman or Dr Glove aka Rich Wills to give you advice.

Mainly they have fed upwards of two pints of caster long and fished worm over. Last time we were up there the barbel dominated with very few of the F1s showing. The change in temps might see them feed now. To keep the barbel coming you do seem to need to feed constantly. Dead maggot should be ok.

the best way to fish silver lake is to set your rig to approx 18 inches , find that depth towards the far bank ,and use that as your main catching line.

feedwise , i always start on pellet , feed micros and fish 4mm expander over the top. feed with a tosspot every put in , do not feed with big cup , the f1s will back away from too much food . if you start to catch more barble than f1s , change to worm n caster.

you can also catch close in , but i usually find i catch quicker and for longer by sticking to far bank .

shallow caster down the middle also works.

Thanks Keith that was just what I was after 🙂 Without pushing my luck to far what size hooks / line are you using ! do the fish run as big as they do in the carp pool !!
                Thanks again.

So what happened then? Apart from it being too hot, no ripple and fishing the wrong side of the lake 😀

                            Yes,
Drew peg 19 and wasted an hour sorting it out, ended third with 67lb 12oz.
First was peg 30 with 94lb, second was peg 29 with 75lb+. Fourth was 67lb and backups were circa 50 – 60lb.

The club on the opposite bank, to a man, were not feeding enough and their top weight was only about 30lb odd.

What peg did you draw? and which peg was it that won?
