I fished both lakes during last week’s pairs festival.

          The following methods will work:
Method with pellets or groundbait to the island with either a 6mm pellet or meat on a hair rig
A 5m line. I couldn’t get this line working but others did. Speaking to another competitor after Friday’s match on the bottom pool we both found hitting the bites very hard so it wasn’t just me. Some will fish paste on this line but I think it’s a case of deciding what you want to do with the line and running with it.
Close in, in 2-3ft of water. I had a lot of fish on meat fished on a top 5 down the edge. However, one angler on friday pegged his nets either side of his platform and fished a top two in front of the platform and weighed in 73lb! He caught on and off all day on that line.
If the weather is better than it was for much of last week then paste is known to work well. Even Harry Billing couldn’t do anything on paste last week.
Some fish were caught shallow at 13m but they tended to be smaller.

I hope some of the above helps. You can also go back over some of Stewart Lister’s blogs on fishing4fun.co.uk as he has written about Trewaters on there quite often
