            The floats?

The lack of feeding is what suprised me but then again. He did say that he feeds larger amounts less often. On the harder days he feeds much more. Sort of suggests that he is looking to target individual fish that come up in the water and by feeding more but less often than normal for this method. He keeps enough fish in the area without getting them flashing at the hook bait or backing off a little but very often feeding pattern that is more the norm with the pellet waggler method. He did say that part of what he is doing is casting to any carp that show themselves anywhere within casting distance. Part of the reason for the bigger floats being used. Again this suggesting that the carp are happy to take a single bait falling though the water but will back off feed going in on a very regular basis. That float must make a proper splash as well. Not quite a splash waggler but bigger than your average pellet waggler which are normally allowed on most venues. Plenty of splash means less feed needed to draw fish in to his swim and his hook bait is the only one and so gets nailed more often.

              TF_MICK THE BOOKIE

We all know Will is a great great World class angler. And this is a good video of Will at his home venue. In fact i think Will knows every contour of the Lakes at Gold Valley…and probably knows and caught every fish in it.
However the making of this video was done at Gold, with Will fishing by himself, and not in a “Match scenario”.
I was talking to an angler last Sunday who is another dab hand with the “Wag”,and he told me of a match fished on Gold Lake 2 weeks ago.Apparently there were 5-6 good anglers in a row on the wag pegs, and 2 of them blanked while the other 3 bagged up and ran away with the match. One of the 2 anglers that blanked was the good “Wag Angler”,and tother was Will.
This proves to me that when even great anglers are sitting next to each other, and all are feeding and fishing the same technique……the fish will be where they want to be and no matter who is fishing the next peg, they wont catch. If Will was 2 pegs down….he would most certainly have won it with a better weight.

His latest one about fishing corner pegs at this time of year is also really worth watching – use the arrows to scroll the playlist….
